| The
last several years have shown increased awareness
of the hazards of working in “sick environments”.
Such offices or facilities are contaminated by mold
and mildew. Sometimes the mold is visible, but often
the spores are hidden behind walls, above ceilings,
or in carpets or air conditioning ducts.
Whether the result of water leaks or humid weather
conditions, when moisture exists in an environment
that does not efficiently dry out, mold spores flourish.
When mold growth occurs in buildings, it may be followed
by reports of health symptoms, particularly by those
with allergies or respiratory problems.
Poor indoor air quality can cause serious respiratory
problems for both children and adults. |
