Neches Station Plant
PROJECT: Neches Station Plant – Beaumont, Texas

Environmental Remediation and Total Demolition Overview
The Neches Station Plant included the following work at an abandoned electrical power generating plant:
- Asbestos and lead abatement and dismantling of 2 cooling towers, 8 turbines, 11 transformers (over 80,000 pounds each), 2 freestanding boilers, 4 boilers within the boiler house, and the boiler house
- Abatement of turbines, pipe insulation, and VAT/mastic in correspondence with the boiler house
- Removal of loose and flaking lead-based paint from various walls
- Demolition of boiler house, freestanding boiler, cooling tower, and additional buildings
- Pigged lines and cleaned out 2 storage tanks
CST Environmental recycled more than 12,000 tons of metal during this project.
